Fishy Talk

FISHY TALK is centrally about a young man named Howard, and his struggles with omnipotence. But that's pretty general. Let's meet the characters:

Howard Zucherman: Howard is a young man of...well, I guess let's say 26. His loves in life include teaching, relaxing, Classic Japanese Cinema, and his girlfriend, Alex.
Howard's life is greatly complicated when his best friend, a demon named Pistachio, grants him unlimited powers to do as he likes, with the small caveat that because Howard is omnipotent, he is not allowed to give up or waver in the face of obstacles, lest he be judged unworthy of the privilege of power.

Marie Zucherman: Marie is Howard's younger sister - a girl of 20, still finishing school, and still trying to figure out exactly what life is supposed to hold for her. Despite her bizarre social ties and strange love for ugly-ass business suits, Marie so often finds herself to be the sensible pillar which keeps the house from crumbling under the weight of the insanity of Howard, Alex, and 'Stache.

Alexandra Fiorentina: Alex is Howard's girlfriend and keeper. She's smart, well educated, eminently responsible and sure-footed - and also totally nuts. Alex came from a family of eighteen children, of whom she was the third. Her parents are a divorced-but-strangely-inseparable couple, and the whole family is as broke as your old game boy original. Growing up in such a setting has left Alex emotionally unpredictable, but doggedly capable.

Pistachio: At some point, Pistachio showed up on Earth and, for reasons passing understanding, decided to start hanging out with Howard. He's a little sassy, and very occasionally violent, but evil has never been a particularly good descriptor for him. He has refused to say why he left hell, or why he spends his days with a unemployed gym teacher, but he brings it up now and again, usually cracking wise to throw folks off the trail.

(As you may be aware, I am occasionally lazy, forgetful, and whimsical. I created a filler-comic, starring Phil, to facilitate this darker, stranger side of my person.)
Philip: Phil is a guy with no particularly distinguishing features, through whom I can make strange one-liners. He's just a tool - a mechanism; but he grows on me as a character more and more each day.
